We started alpaca walking with the public with our gentle boys in June 2018. Since then, many groups have enjoyed the experience, including a hen party of 20, a WI group of 14, an 18th birthday treat, a 16th birthday treat and others.

The experience lasts around 2 hours or so and includes:

  • A talk about alpacas, their history etc.

  • A visit to see our 9 baby alpacas (cria), born 2018 and their mums.

  • A walk around our land with an alpaca, up to 6 alpacas at a time.

  • Tea and homemade cakes to finish.

Cost:

Please note that we will have to increase our charges in 2019 due to the new “Licensing of Activities Involving Animals (2018)” regulation which means we have to obtain a licence to continue walking our alpacas. This is a positive move in terms of animal welfare, which is our greatest concern, but we have to cover the cost of this.

Walking the alpacas will remain at £15 per person until 1 April 2019 when there will be a £5 increase; anyone who buys walking vouchers up to 1 April will be charged £15 when they will also be increased. [Anyone who already has walking vouchers at that time will have them honoured as usual of course.]

  • The talk, visit to see the babies, walk around the paddocks with an alpaca and tea and cakes to finish - £15 per person, c.2 hrs.
