We started alpaca walking with the public with our gentle boys in June 2018. Since then, many groups have enjoyed the experience, including hen parties, WI groups, various birthday parties etc. Groups also visit us with wheelchairs to enjoy time with the alpacas with tea and cakes.

  • Under 7 year olds cannot walk with an alpaca on their own; each child needs to be supported by an adult. Our alpacas are very well trained and gentle but can be spooked by excitable children and could pull them over quite easily.

NB Please book a day/time with us in advance of coming along to ensure you are not disappointed. We cannot always give time to impromptu visitors.

Our vouchers have no use-by date!

The alpaca experience lasts around 2 hours or so and includes:

  • A talk about alpacas, their history etc.

  • A visit to see our alpacas and feed them; help to catch alpacas for haltering.

  • A walk around our land with an alpaca; we can walk up to 12 alpacas at a time.

  • Tea/coffee/cold drinks and cakes to finish.

  • Wear sensible shoes with enclosed toes as alpacas have sharp nails.

Cost:

Adults £24;

7- 14 years £16;

Under 7 years £4 and must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Non-walkers may accompany group at £10

  • To get to our farm, go along Chestnut Drive, Taunton, and take the road to Stoke St Mary; on entering the village, after about 2 miles, continue past the pub (keep on right hand side) and up the hill towards the church. The road takes a 90 degree turn to the left, continue on, past all the bungalows and out of the village. The entrance to the farm is the first field gate on the right, after around 500 metres after the last house of the village itself. If coming from A358, take turning to Stoke St Mary, near speed trap at Henlade. After a mile of wiggly roads you will see the sign for village; we are in the first field gate on the a left from there, around 300 metres. We are on the opposite side of the road to The White House.

    NB We are not up the lane to Oaks Lodge or Church Close
